Grijalva visits Yuma to talk about stimulus

Yuma Sun:

U.S. Rep. Raul Grijalva will be here Tuesday to talk to the public about how the economic recovery plan will affect the Yuma area.

He will be speaking at a public news conference at 8:30 a.m. at the Yuma Private Industry Council Board Room, 3818 W. 16th St.

Grijalva also will meet with Yuma County Sheriff Ralph Ogden and with representatives from AARP Arizona and the Yuma County Interfaith.

Both houses of Congress passed the $787 billion bill over the weekend.

Grijalva voted in favor of the bill, saying in a news release that while far from perfect, it opens opportunities for many.

While this package will not solve the entirety of the economic crisis consuming this country, it takes steps to ensure that our communities are not put on the pathway toward further disaster.
