Pastor defends travel

From an article in the Kansas City Star about reps who travel a lot:

Rep. Ed Pastor, D-Ariz., said, Obviously, it gave me a chance to see Barcelona. I wont deny that. But I also had a chance to see something in another country in terms of recycling and reusing nuclear material.

Pastor, who sits on the energy and water subcommittee of the House Appropriations Committee, visited facilities in Barcelona and Avignon, France, in 2003 and Paris and Normandy in 2000. The institute picked up the tab of more than $19,000 each time.

The congressman took issue with Turleys assessment. It was not a joke to me, he said. It was a working trip.
