Kolbe working at DC think-tank, will teach at U of A

Kolbe bwFrom the AP:

Jim Kolbe may have stepped into retirement from the U.S. House, but his workaholic days are about to continue.

Kolbe just left Congress after 11 terms and has begun working at a Washington-based think tank. As a senior trans-Atlantic fellow, hell focus on trade, aid and migration issues. He also will do strategic consulting this spring, and in the fall will teach a business school-law school course at the University of Arizona on trade policy and globalization.

Retirement came with no real regrets, and at absolutely the right time, the 64-year-old Kolbe said recently while he was still young enough to begin a new career, while people still wanted him to stay and with Republicans losing their House majority.

Still, when the new Congress was sworn in last month, I couldnt help but be a little wistful at opening ceremonies on the floor and realizing here for the first time in 22 years Im not there, he said.
