Let the onslaught begin

From a letter to the editor printed in the Republic:

I noted with delicious irony the placement of your story announcing that Democrat Harry Mitchell will run for Congress in District 5 (Mitchell to challenge Hayworth for Congress, Republic, Tuesday).

It was located on the same page as the obituaries, where the Mitchell campaign belongs.

U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth, a Republican who has worked tirelessly for the citizens of Arizonas fifth district, will rise to the challenge once again.

Mitchell and the archaic liberalism he represents are well past their sell by date. Hed be better off continuing his job as the Democrat partys hatchet man because his campaign will be DOA with District 5 voters.

Joe and Debbie (I?) are Hayworth volunteers and have apparently appeared in a campaign commercial for the Congressman. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. One of the things that you do in a campaign is that you get your people to write letters to the editor.

But, I find this sort of telling. If this is a fourth-tier candidate who cant be elected dogcatcher, why sic the volunteers on him in March?
