Grijalva quits Congressional Hispanic Caucus PAC

From The Hill:

Six members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) have ended their association with the group’s PAC, citing concerns about recent contributions to relatives of the caucus’s members.

Reps. Dennis Cardoza (D-Calif.), Jim Costa (D-Calif.), Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.), Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.) and Hilda Solis (D-Calif.) wrote to Rep. Joe Baca (D-Calif.), chairman of the Building Our Leadership Diversity PAC (BOLDPAC), on March 1 asking that their names no longer be used for or affiliated with the committee’s activities. The names of all 21 caucus members have typically appeared on invitations to fundraisers and similar materials.

“After careful consideration, we have decided to withdraw our involvement from BOLDPAC effective immediately,” the members wrote. “Over the past months, we have grown increasingly concerned about both the manner in which decisions within BOLDPAC have been made and the selection of certain non-federal candidates to receive contributions.”

The members’ concerns stem from campaign donations the PAC has made to relatives of CHC members who are running for state and local offices.
